In 2025, we began the journey of turning our parkway strip (verge) into a native-plant pollinator strip. The selected plants are native perennials, the foundation of a resilient garden. With a severe winter and quite a bit of snowfall and snowbanks, everything bounced back to life this spring. Being a parkway next to a busy sidewalk lined with four-legged friends, we need extra-robust selections. Next to the telephone pole, a popular sniffing spot, we laid out a rock space to act as a natural target for man's best friend. So far, it has required no additional maintenance or watering.
